2019 Spring SCCC Exam Application Deadline Approaching

The deadline for applying for the Spring 2019 SCCC Certification Exam is February 20, 2019. Applying for the exam includes submitting an exam application as well as paying the $360/members or $470/non-members certification fee ($205/members $250/non-members for retaking one portion of the exam). Please visit the CSCCa website or contact the CSCCa National Office for a complete list of requirements and deadlines.

All SCCC candidates and mentors are encouraged to review the SCCC Certification Handbook which can be found on the CSCCa website. This handbook provides a wealth of information that is extremely helpful in preparing for the exam.  The SCCC certification exam has been updated recently, and the Spring 2019 exam will follow this new blue print. SCCC candidates and their mentors are encouraged to review the recently updated Candidate Handbook.  If you have ANY questions about the status of your certification application, please contact the CSCCa National Office at info@cscca.org or 801-375-9400.

As a reminder, the written portion of the SCCC Certification Exam is offered through computer-based testing (PSI) at local testing sites throughout the USA. This means that candidates will take the written portion of the exam during a scheduled window of availability before they sit for the practical portion of the exam. The window of availability for the written portion of the Spring 2019 exam will run from Wednesday, April 3, 2019 – Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Again, the deadline for submitting your exam application and certification fee is Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

Attention All Eligible CSCCa Mentors

We encourage all eligible CSCCa-approved mentors to make internships available to those seeking to become SCCC certified. Please email the national office any available internship positions to be posted on the CSCCa website.  In addition, we ask that you check the list of eligible mentors provided on the CSCCa website under “Membership” and “Mentors” and contact the national office immediately if you are not on this list.  The most updated Mentoring Packet was revised as of August 2018.  If you do not have the latest edition, and currently have an intern, please contact the CSCCa National Office and one will be sent to you.

If you have not already done so, please notify the CSCCa National Office of your interns who are planning to sit for the SCCC certification examination in May as soon as possible.  We strongly encourage you to monitor your interns’ progress toward fulfilling the requirements for SCCC certification before the specified deadlines so that they will be eligible to sit for the exam.  Please be aware of the following documentation that must be submitted to the CSCCa for each practicum/internship:
