CEU Corner

Continuing Education Corner

The previous CEU cycle which ran from August 1, 2016, through July 31, 2019, is now over, and we are in the first year of our current CEU cycle which runs from August 1, 2019, through July 31, 2022.

Attention all SCCC Certificants who lapsed in the previous CEU Cycle: In order to avoid having to re-sit for the written portion of the SCCC certification exam to have your SCCC certification reinstated, all missing CEU requirements MUST be fulfilled by the end of the current CEU cycle—July 31, 2022.  This includes payment of the $50 lapsed CEU reinstatement fee.

New CEU Contact Email:

As a reminder, please email all CEU inquiries and submissions to ceu@cscca.org

Obtaining CEUs:

It isn’t too early to start obtaining CEUs!  Have you participated in an event, course, or clinic since July 31st, 2019? If so, be sure to email the CSCCa National Office a detailed course itinerary and verification of attendance to ceu@cscca.org.

Complimentary Gatorade Performance Partner Pre-Conference Symposium: “The X’s and O’s for SCC Success” (3 CEUs)

Wednesday, May 6, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

As a longtime partner of CSCCa, Gatorade will once again offer an afternoon of education at the National conference. This year’s sessions will focus on the X’s and O’s for SCC success – which includes everything from how to build mentor/mentee relationships to how to make smart nutrition recommendations for your athletes. Registration information is available on the CSCCa website and the events page on Gatorade Performance Partner.

As a reminder, completion of the new Health and Safety CEU Quiz is required for this CEU Cycle. Any questions or concerns regarding this course should be brought to the attention of the CSCCa National Office.

Important CPR/AED/First Aid Requirement Changes:

Members must submit a CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification card that will be current as of July 31, 2022. We recommend going through the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the National Safety Council.  While hands-on courses are ideal and strongly recommended, effective August 1, 2019, First Aid Courses are no longer required to include a hands-on portion for the new CEU Cycle that ends on July 31, 2022.

Please be aware that this change does not affect the CPR/AED requirement. CPR/AED MUST include a hands-on portion, and courses completed solely online will not be accepted.
