It is with a heavy heart that I address you today to let you know that due to some unforeseen health issues, Becky and I have decided that it is time for us to leave our positions within the CSCCa. Preparations are currently underway to select a new executive team to lead the organization, and rest assured that the CSCCa will remain in good hands. The full transition will take place by June 30, 2021.
The past 20+ years have been extremely rewarding for both me and Becky as we have had the opportunity to work with you to build the CSCCa from scratch and help move the strength and conditioning coaching profession forward. Twenty-one years ago, the collegiate strength and conditioning coach had no voice. There was no organization specifically and solely for this unique group. With the help and support of like-minded coaches, the CSCCa was created with the specific goals of promoting education, unity, and respect for and among strength and conditioning coaches. It was also our goal to create a “home” for strength and conditioning coaches and to improve their lives and the lives of their families.
Two decades later, the CSCCa—created BY strength and conditioning coaches FOR strength and conditioning coaches—has become the largest organization in the world specifically for strength and conditioning coaches of collegiate and professional athletic teams. In addition, the organization’s SCCC certification has become the “gold standard” in strength and conditioning certification, with its 3-part process. The organization has worked tirelessly to promote and serve the strength and conditioning coach and to advance the profession.
The CSCCa has a solid foundation and the future is bright! There is nothing that cannot be accomplished if we continue to work together. Please continue to support the CSCCa, the Board of Directors, and its new executive team.
I want to thank the CSCCa Board of Directors for all their help and support over the past two decades, and especially during this challenging time as Becky and I have made this difficult decision. I also want to thank each of you for your help and support as we have worked together to develop this organization and promote the profession.
Becky and I love the CSCCa, the profession, and each one of you. You will continue to be an important part of our lives, and you will forever remain in our hearts and prayers, as we ask the Lord to bless you and your families and this great organization. Thank you for the opportunity and privilege we have had to serve you.
