The CSCCa Board of Directors welcomes 2 new members: Sandy Abney, Assistant Head Coach for Athletic Performance at the University of Texas at Austin, and Nate Moe, the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at South Dakota State University. Coach Abney previously served as the Chair of the CSCCa Certification Commission. We want to extend our thanks to Kevin Yoxall and Scott Bennett who served the CSCCa as members of the Board of Directors for many years. We appreciate their many contributions to the Association and the profession of Strength & Conditioning Coaching.
Coach Bennett served several years as a representative of the Strength & Conditioning Coach on the NCAA Safeguards Committee in an ex-officio position. He was instrumental in the creation of a permanent position on the committee for a Strength & Conditioning Coach, which became effective in 2016.
Coach Yoxall served as the Vice President of the CSCCa for many years with Jeff Madden who served as CSCCa President from 2009-2016. Both of these outstanding coaches will be missed on the Board, but we look forward to continuing to work with them.
The CSCCa Certification Commission welcomes 2 new members as well: Jami Clinton, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Texas at Dallas, and Jim Lathrop, Director of Strength & Conditioning at Illinois State University. They will be replacing Sandy Abney, who was elected to serve on the CSCCa Board of Directors, and Allen Kinley, who will be retiring this fall. We wish Coach Kinley our very best as he embarks on this new phase of life!
The CSCCa Practical Exam Committee welcomes 2 new members as well: Rick Court, Assistant AD over Football Sports Performance at the University of Maryland, and Michael Doscher, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Valdosta State University. We look forward to working with them, and appreciate their willingness to share their knowledge and expertise with this Committee.
